"After studying music in conservatories in Nancy and Lyon, Violaine Gestalder perfected with Vincent David at the conservatory of Versailles until 2008.

Saxophonist on the lookout for musical discoveries, Violaine is part of a polymorphic approach: revisiting the classical repertoires in chamber music thanks to the transcription, she also solicits the creation with the Résonance 6 ensemble and the Neva saxophone quartet.

She explores the field of free improvisation at the CNSMDP in the class of Alexandros Markeas and Vincent Lê Quang, (prize obtained in 2012), as well as in the groups Lezo and Echafaudages.

As a soloist, she is invited to perform with orchestras in formations such as OSLN and GAM.

After teaching her instrument for nearly 10 years in the Vosges then Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy, she joined the teaching training department of the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris and obtained in 2012 her certificate of Proficiency in teaching duties, a position she occupies this year at the CRR Nancy."

"After debuts as a rock and blues bassist and a degree in language sciences, Louis-Michel Marion studied double-bass with Jean-François Jenny-Clark and Pierre Hellouin. To this day, he keeps on learning and diversifying his practices by playing with Jacques Di Donato, Vinko Globokar, Joe McPhee, Steve Potts, Paul Rogers, Annick Nozati, Keith Rowe, Malcolm Goldstein, Le Quan Ninh, and many others.

He approaches his instrument without preconceptions, merely as a generator of sound. His improvisation work has been shaped by the music of such artists as Joëlle Léandre, G. Scelsi, Barre Phillips, Daunik Lazro, I. Xenakis, S. Sciarrino, Morton Feldman, and many others.

For the last twenty years, he has been focusing mainly on improvisation within ensembles of all sizes: from the duo to the 15tet, he has worked with Systême Friche / Jacques DiDonato (improvisation 15tet ensemble), with choreographer Aurore Gruel in the long-term duo Hay Que Caminar, and has explored many solo pieces for double-bass (Scelsi, Scodanibbio, Donatoni, Bussotti, Goldstein...). Fascinated by Eliane Radigue's music, he meets her in 2014 and creates "Occam Océan XIX "for five-strings double-bass, "Occam River V"for five-strings double-bass and bass clarinet with Carol Robinson (festival Musiques Démesurées in November 2014), "Occam Hexa III"(Fondation Cartier, July 2016), "Occam River VII"(duet for doube bass and harp with Hélène Breschand, College des Bernardins, Paris, 2017)

Regularly invited by the Ultim'Asonata ensemble, specialised in contemporary music, he is also a member of the Azéotropes collective (contemporary jazz, improvisation) with composer and pianist Loris Binot.

In 2009, he founds Archipel Nocturne, string and percussions ensemble dedicated to musics at the edges of improvisation and open writing, for which he composes.

Sensitive to architecture, spatial and acoustic environments, he is particularly fond of creating and organising musical projects in unconventional places.

Always up for interdisciplinary collaborations, he takes part in numerous choreographic or theatrical creations, cinema-concerts, radiophonic creations (France Musique : "Les contes du jour et de la nuit ", "A l'improviste ", "Alla Breve"). He has also been playing the viola de gamba for a few years.

LM Marion is often called upon for improvisation workshops in conservatories, music schools or festivals (Nancy, Metz, Lille, Montreuil, Malzéville, Troyes, Reims, Saint Dié, CNFPT de Nancy, CEFEDEM de Lorraine, CCAM-Scène Nationale de Vandœuvre les Nancy, University of Reims-Champagne Ardenne, Conservatory of Saint-Dié des Vosges, Regional Conservatory of Nancy...).

Stefania Becheanu is a French sound artist. She has been a member of the group Noi Trei.

"Her paintings are no longer made of fabric stretched over a frame: they are now invisible and they invest immaterially but resolutely all the exhibition space.

Her technique is pictorial, the sound colors are superimposed, the acoustic layers are sculpted, the artistic and seminal gesture of the painter persists, a software replaces the brush.

Her raw material is alive and vibrant: raw sounds captured by the artist in the cities and in nature, in Her daily life or during Her many travels.

Stefania Becheanu works on her subject, she creates a dramaturgy, a sound painting that she delivers to listen to visitors.

The soundscape is exposed in multicast, the spatialized sound invades the space, it envelops the visitor - listener. The hanging invites to the strolling, the search for the sounds, the perception of the space and the feeling of the vibrations which will hang the ear, to touch the flesh, to bounce on an auditory memory, to solicit the senses, to create an image . Sounds pass from one intimacy to another, from that of the artist to that of the listener. There are as many soundscapes as listening."
