"Christina Kubisch was born in Bremen in 1948. She studied painting, music and electronics in Hamburg, Graz, Zürich and Milano, where she graduated. Performances, concerts and works with video in the seventies, subsequently sound installations, sound sculptures and work with ultraviolet light. Her compositions are mostly electroacoustic, but she has written for ensembles as well. Since 2003 she works again as a perfomer and collaborates with various musicians and dancers.

Numerous grants and awards, such as the Award of the German Industrial Association (BDI) 1998, composition grant of the city of Berlin 2000, Carl Djerassi Honorary Fellowship, USA 2000, artist-in-residence IASPIS, Stockholm 2002, Honorary prize of the German Sound Art Prize 2008, City sound artist Bonn, 2013.

Christina Kubisch has been a visiting professor in Maastricht, Paris and Berlin. She has been a professor for sound art at the Academy of Fine Arts, Saarbrücken, Germany, from 1994 to 2013. She is a member of the Akademie der Künste Berlin since 1997."

"Fabrizio Plessi (born 3 April 1940, Reggio Emilia, Province of Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna, Italy) studied painting at the Venice Art Academy. He initially dealt with performances and experimental films. He became internationally known with the new art form he developed in the mid-1970s, video sculpture. His works belong to the Arte Povera and conceptual art. A main theme of his works is water, whereby he uses various means for his artistic installations, especially films, videos as well as performances and productions in which he uses stones, rusty iron, wood, straw and other materials. "Plessi's installations are always a game of being and appearances, the encounter between the real and the possible, between reality and virtuality. [...] Using the latest technology, he tries to track down ancient matter. ", also with his open-air video installation "Waterfire"; - The 10 m high "Plessi Tower" made of steel and monitors has been standing in front of the entrance to the State Horticultural Show in Kronach since 2002.

Plessi exhibited his productions at the Kassel documenta as well as at the Venice Biennale and the São Paulo Biennale and designed the Italian pavilion for the Expo 2000 world exhibition. A major solo exhibition, which took place in the Guggenheim Museum in New York in 1998, and which was subsequently taken over by important American museums, had a particular success. He held a professorship for "Electronic Scenography" at the Art Academy for Media Cologne and held a chair for "Humanization of Technologies" there from 1990 to 2000. The Plessi Museum was inaugurated on the Brenner motorway in 2013 - it presents videos, drawings and installations by the artist in a permanent exhibition. The museum is a motorway service station, so it can only be reached via the motorway and is in close proximity to the former Italian-Austrian customs station.
