"Christian Uetz's texts are inspired and moved by the sound and the meaning of words. With concentration and utter alertness he follows the tracks of meaning as well as the traces of sound, a procedure which juxtaposes and assembles contents seemingly by chance. His often fast and daring associative leaps and his breathtaking speed of reading recall the storms of thought - and at the same time, the impossibility of verbalizing those thoughts - as experienced in psychedelic states.
Koch-Schütz-Studer support this process with their highly sensitive sound-machinery. They react to the spoken word like seismographs, sometimes in agreement with the speaker and sometimes not. The musical answer stands for itself. It is not simply a translation or a sound-mirror of the texts. Radiating from their inner selves the speaker "sings" and the musicians "speak", thus opening a new dimension to the listener's experience: language is turned into music and music becomes eloquent language."-Intakt

For the past 45 years, he has performed at festivals, given concerts and workshops, and recorded for radio and television, as well as music for dance productions and radio plays, theatre and film music in Europe, Africa, Japan, Central and South America, the Caribbean, in Taiwan, India, Russia and in Canada and the USA. He has been honoured with numerous prizes and awards. Studer also works as a freelance drummer and performs a limited number of select solo concerts. Fredy Studer was one of the first drummers to incorporate open improvisation and grooves into his style. The specialist journal "Drums & Percussion" wrote: "... without doubt, Swiss percussionist Fredy Studer is one of the most innovative drummers in Europe..." Fredy Studer's works and collaboration has been documented on more than 90 recordings." ^ Hide Bio for Fredy Studer
