Descriptions, Reviews, &c.

New York's No-Necks played the Victoriaville Festival in 2005, which was preserved for this well-recorded release. The No-Neck Blues Band is a spaced out but well organized rock band with sax, assorted percussion, unusual vocals, and a meandering but purposeful approach to playing. Their music is oddly fascinating, sometimes loose and a little loopy, but in a well-weird way that keeps it interesting. For this release they've edited the live set into a series of compositional sections for easier digestin.

Artist Biographies

"NO Moore's guitar playing combines elements wrenched from the short history of the electric guitar, from the Blues to Free Improvisation, and combines them with a love of early electronic experimentalism, synthesis, and musique concrète. The result is an often surprising sound world for electric guitar, encompassing both a loose respect for its traditions and an absolute commitment to the new and the consequences that follow."
