"For ten years four of the most willful musicians from Zurich are working together in the Quartett Objets Trouvés: Gabriela Friedli, Co Streiff, Jan Schlegel und Dieter Ulrich. They are personalities who have made a name for themselves internationally from their numerous projects. Now Objets Trouvés presents its second CD. "it's hard to find other jazz composers who interweave the lyric playful melodic lines of saxophone and piano with the erratically pulsating accents of drum and bass as artfully as Gabriela Friedli", writes the jazz critic Christian Rentsch in the Liner notes. "The provocative magic of Friedli's and Schlegel's compositions lies in the dialectic of fixed form and openness. Their pieces are great examples for a new kind of compositions: the concisely staged incompleteness, the precisely notated ambiguity open thousands of surprising possibilities."-Intakt
