Mathisen is a graduate of the Jazz program at Trondheim Musikkonservatorium (2004-08). He is distinguished by his powerful, expressive play and is a force for all the bands he is involved with. He was first noted in the band Shagma in 2004, and also play within The Core together with Steinar Raknes, Espen Aalberg and Erlend Slettevoll, and within Zanussi Five including Eirik Hegdal, Kjetil Møster and Gard Nilssen, among others."

André was born in Skien, Norway in 1985. He started playing the saxophone at the age of 8 and early on became interested in improvised music. Roligheten has studied to Bachelor at the Jazz Academy at NTNU in Trondheim, with teachers and mentors like John Pål Inderberg and Erling Aksdal. Now he recently finished his Masters degree in improvised music at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.

One of Rolighetens main projects is the duo "Albatrosh". After winning the prestigious Norwegian "JazzIntro" award in 2008, "Young Jazz Musicians of the year", Albatrosh has had busy years. In 2009 they released their critically acclaimed debut album, "Seagull Island" (InnerEar), as the cohesive press celebrated with solid rolls of the dice, and by the big Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet described as "perhaps the most exciting release in Norwegian elite jazz in many years". And John Kelman from All about jazz: "Roligheten and Dale manage to say much without ever resorting to excess. A fine debut from a duo with a bright future, Seagull Island doesn't just suggest great promise; it delivers on it as well." In 2010 they released their second album "Mystery Orchestra with Grenager & Tafjord", featuring cellist Lene Grenager and horn player Hild Sofie Tafjord. This album received great reviews as well, and the Norwegian newspaper Dagsavisen ranked it to be the best Norwegian jazz record of 2010. At North Sea jazz 2009 they took part in the European Jazz Competition, and won the prestigious 1st prize "Best Band". Jury chairman, Maria Schneider said: "Most original, great interplay and amazing improvisation, effective and colorful compositions paired to amazing improvisation." This meant radio play across Europe as well as a dedicated concert at North Sea Jazz 2010.

During "Young Nordic Jazz Comets 2008", the jury awarded Roligheten with the Soloist Prize "because of his virtuous technique and his dynamic play. In 2009 André went on a Europe tour with European Jazz Orchestra conducted by Peter Herbolzheimer, where he played with some great fellow musicians from 20 countries all over Europe. Some of Rolighetens other current projects are "Team Hegdal", fellow saxophonist Eirik Hegdals new quartet (Hegdal, known from a.o. Trondheim Jazz Orchestra with Joshua Redman). André is also playing with Trondheim Jazz Orchestra (TJO). At Molde Jazzfestival 2010, he played with TJO ́s project with Ståle Storløkken (Super Silent) and the legendary Norwegian rock group Motorpsycho. Hayden Powell is a trumpet player and composer based in Oslo, Norway. Originally English, Powell moved to Norway as a child and grew up in Molde. He works in a variety of styles with an emphasis on jazz and improvised music, and has released two albums as a leader, The Attic (2011) and Roots and Stems (2013). A new album entitled Circadian Rhythm and Blues is set for release in late 2015.

Hayden Powell started his career as a 13-year-old member of the traditional jazz band Dixi from Molde. Tours of Norway and England and four albums with this band gave Powell a flying start to his musical life. In addition, Powell often performed with his father, who is a church organist. From 2002-2006 he studied at the Conservatory in Trondheim, earning a bachelor's degree in jazz performance. During these years, Powell co-founded the band Magic Pocket with Erik Johannessen (trombone), Daniel Herskedal (tuba) and Erik Nylander (drums).

During this period, Hayden Powell Quartet played at the Trondheim Jazz Festival with trumpeter Kenny Wheeler as a guest. Powell also participated in several versions of the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, including those led by Terje Rypdal, Erlend Skomsvoll and Eirik Hegdal. He received Molde Jazz Festival and Sparebank 1′s Jazz Scholarship in 2006 and Trondheim Jazz Festival's talent prize in 2009.

In 2008, Hayden Powell moved to Oslo where he earned a master's degree in jazz performance at the Norwegian Academy of Music (2009-2011). As a part of this degree, Powell worked with musicians such as Tore Brunborg, Jon Balke, Per Oddvar Johansen and Mats Eilertsen. In 2009/2010, Magic Pocket was awarded a grant that offered the opportunity to write a commissioned work for the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra at the Molde Jazz Festival. This was later released as the album Trondheim Jazz Orchestra & Magic Pocket - Kinetic Music (MNJ Records, 2011). 2011 also saw the release of Magic Pocket's critically acclaimed debut album The Katabatic Wind (Bolage, 2011) with guest pianist/keyboardist Morten Qvenild.

Powell's album The Attic was released in September 2011 to a full house at Nasjonal Jazzscene Victoria in Oslo, and great reviews. The album set the scene for Hayden Powell Trio, which alongside Powell consists of Eyolf Dale on piano and Jo Skaansar on bass. Drummer Jasper van Hulten, trombonist Erik Johannessen and saxophonist Tore Brunborg also contributed to the recording. Following this release, Hayden Powell Trio have played more than 60 concerts at Norwegian jazz clubs and festivals including Nattjazz and Moldejazz. They released Roots and Stems in 2013, this time also gaining attention from reviewers abroad. 2015 will see the release of Circadian Rhythm and Blues, a double album that contains both trio and solo work.

Alongside his own bands, Powell has worked as a freelance musician based in Oslo, contributing to more than 30 albums to date. He worked with Finnish pianist/harpist Iro Haarla as a member of her quintet (w/Jon Christensen, Trygve Seim and Uffe Krokfors) and took part in her commission "Ante Lucem" performed and recorded with Norrlands Symfoniorkester in Umeå, Sweden. He recorded and toured with Solfrid Molland's project "Katedral for Tapte Drømmer" (Kirkelig Kulturverksted), as well as shorter stints with musicians and bands such as Ola Kvernberg's Liarbird, Albatrosh & Trondheim Jazz Orchestra and Terje Gewelt Spindrift. International collaborations include several projects with Estonian bassist Peedu Kass, the group 12 Percent featuring Canadian pianist Parker Shper, and musicians such as Joonas Riippa and Thomas Bachmann.

"Kristoffer Kompen (born 14 August 1984 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian Jazz musician (trombone) and composer, known from a series of performances and recordings within bands like "Jazzin' Babies" and with musicians like Eirik Hegdal, Eyolf Dale, David Skinner, Håkon Storm-Mathisen and Kåre Nymark.

Kompen studied music and music education at the Norwegian Academy of Music (2005-11), and also attended the Agder Musikkonservatorium in Kristiansand (2004/2005) and Kungliga Musikhögskolan in Stockholm (2007/2008). He has toured several times with Rikskonsertene, various big bands and ensembles, theater productions and a variety of bands in jazz and related music. Compensation has performed in numerous occasions, including with Kringkastingsorkesteret in Den Norske Opera, August 2011.

At 15 years old he joined the orchestra "Jazzin' Babies", and later joined bands like Staffan William-Olsson Sextet and Kåre Nymark Band. He also has two own bands, the Swedish-Norwegian Union Rhythm Kings and Kompen Quintet. Within the latter band, Kompen released his acclaimed debut solo album Short Stories of Happiness in 2011. The reviewer Erling Wicklund of the NRK Jazz states: "The compositions by Kompen are also mysterious, but exciting enough".[1] On his second solo album A Tribute to Jack Teagarden (2013), he has chosen to honor his great inspiration Jack Teagarden (1905-64) by interpreting a dozen tunes from his repertoar. This is to sets the benchmark high as he was the leading jazztrombonisten from the 1920s right up to the bebop revolution of the 1940s. Kompen delivers an even more praised album this time.[2][3]

Kompen was musically responsible for the ending tour "Swing It, Love It Dig It" by Rikskonsertene 2012 and lead the opening concert of the Oslo Jazzfestival in Den Norske Opera the same year."

Adrian Fiskum Myhr is a bassist (double bass and electric bass) from Trondheim, Norway, now living in Oslo.

Active in the improvised music scene in Norway, Adrian has performed across Europe as well as in Chile and Japan.

Adrian is focusing on the big sound repertoire of the bass and works continuously on extending this vocabulary with various strategies, through preperations and different bowing techniques.

"I discovered free improvised music at the age of 16. As a drummer who was quite fed up with just filling the "time-keeping-role", the first encounter with musicians as Albert Ayler, Ornette Coleman and Peter Brötzmann altered my musical course quite considerably. The intense musical energy and the immense presence of the musicians simply blew my young brain away.

Since then, I have been fortunate enough to be able to expand my musical perception through playing with truly great musicians (to whom I can never be thankful enough), listening to a tiny bit of the music available in this world (some of it introduced to me by friends to whom I also owe thanks) and through composing music on my own, some of which you can find under SOUNDS in the menu to the left."
