Recorded live at the 69th SALON for Klang+Kunst in Krailing, Germany, on November 25th, 2016, by Udo Schindler.
"Making music on the same instruments in a duo, could have turned out as boring. Usually in this setting, musicians will move in a fairly limited sonic space. Not so with ad hoc improvisation. As for the possibilities of sound generation, this field knows virtually no boundaries. Musicians can evolve their own playing techniques and choose their approach according to their preferences and strengths. And since improvising is largely about following your own unconsciousness, this is arguably the most individual of musical disciplines. Dues to this last quality, it is appreciated as a valid form of high art throughout the world, but less so in these parts. Even though Udo Schinderl succeeds in luminaries from all over German and Europe, his Salon für Klang+Kunst at Krailing remains a familiar affair for a small circle of experts and adepts..."-Reinhard Palmer (translated by A.F. Mader), from the liner notes

He worked with many important musicians like Cecil Taylor, Roscoe Mitchell, Peter Kowald, Gunter Hampel, Barre Phillips, Sabu Toyozumi, Perry Robinson, Peeter Uuskyla, Gianni Mimmo, Gianni Lenoci, among others. On the other hand he works with pipe organ player Peer Schlechta and contemporary composers like Daniel Ott. Volquartz played at many festivals like Moers, Leipzig, Leverkusen etc. He toured as far as to Africa where he worked with drummer Kojo Samuels in Liberia. He recorded with Annexus Quam, Gunter Hampel, TAG Trio, Second Exit, and Cecil Taylor among others. As a musicologist he worked about flow experiences in improvisation." ^ Hide Bio for Ove Volquartz
