"Mette Rasmussen's and Chris Corsano's partnership continues after five years of concerts, being A View of the Moon (from the Sun) its second album, after All the Ghosts at Once.
All the attraction of the two musicians for the extreme keeps very much alive and it seems now not just a process but an entire program, signaled by the title of the first track, "Many People Were Scandalized - Some Still Are". Extreme expression, extreme timbres, extreme techniques: the Danish, but living in Trondheim, saxophonist keeps here the same attitude she has with the punk-jazz band Trio Riot and her collaborations with Cocaine Piss in the hardcore field, always pushing the envelope to the highest and the lowest notes of the alto sax, and the American drummer appears with all the energy and textural wonder he showed either with the free jazz legend Joe McPhee and with Thurston Moore, mentor of the now defunct Sonic Youth.
Here you'll find bits and pieces of several musical worlds: the most intense "new thing", the one defined by John Coltrane and Rashied Ali in "Interstellar Space", free improvisation derived from the encounters between Evan Parker and Paul Lytton (even considering that Corsano has more links with Mitch Mitchell than with any non-idiomatic percussionists), and what you can define as acoustic versions of electronic exploratory music. The result is mind blowing, even if you no longer get scandalized."-Clean Feed

Artist Biographies
• Show Bio for Mette Rasmussen "Mette Rasmussen is a Danish saxophone player based in Trondheim, Norway. She works in the field of improvised music, drawing from a wide range of influences, spanning free jazz to textural soundwork. Rasmussen works on exploring the natural rawness of her instrument - experimenting on what the saxophone is capable of in sound and expression, with and without preparations. Much in demand, she has performed with the likes of Alan Silva, Chris Corsano, Ståle Liavik Solberg, and with her Trio Riot group with Sam Andreae and David Meier." ^ Hide Bio for Mette Rasmussen • Show Bio for Chris Corsano "First spellbound by freely improvised music in the mid-1990s after witnessing performances by TEST, William Parker, Cecil Taylor, and others, Chris Corsano began a long-standing, high-energy partnership with Paul Flaherty in 1998. A move from western Massachusetts to the UK in 2005 led Corsano to develop an expanded solo music of his own, incorporating sax reeds, violin strings and bows, pot lids, and other everyday household items into his drum kit. In February 2006 he released his first solo recording, The Young Cricketer, and toured extensively throughout Europe, USA, and Japan. He spent 2007 and '08 as the drummer on Björk's Volta world tour, all the while weaving in shows and recordings on his days off with the likes of Evan Parker, Virginia Genta, and C. Spencer Yeh. Moving back to the U.S. in 2009, Corsano returned focus to his own projects, most notably a duo with Michael Flower, Rangda (with Sir Richard Bishop and Ben Chasny) and solo work, now revamped to include synthesizers and contact microphones in addition to his drum set and home-made acoustic instruments. In addition to the those mentioned above, he's also worked with, among others: John Edwards (released by: Clean Feed/Dancing Wayang), Jim O'Rourke & Akira Sakata (Drag City/Family Vineyard), Paul Dunmall (ESP-Disk), Nels Cline (Strange Attractors), Jessica Rylan (Load Records), Jandek (Corwood), Sunburned Hand Of Man (Manhand), MV&EE (Eclipse/Time-Lag), Vampire Belt (Open Mouth), Joe McPhee (Roaratorio), and Wally Shoup (Leo/Columbia Japan)." ^ Hide Bio for Chris Corsano
