Rose Tang: Musician/Activist #Tiananmen survivor. Taught @Princeton; Ex @CNNi. A Mongol from Sichuan, plays in about 30 bands and ensembles in New York and Seattle.

"Ayumi Ishito was born and raised in Ishikawa, Japan. At the age of 19, she began playing tenor saxophone in a college big band at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto.

In 2007, Ayumi received a scholarship to attend Berkee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. She spent three years there studying performance and composition. At Berklee, she studied with George Garzone, Hal Crook, and Frank Tiberi.

After graduating from Berklee, Ayumi moved to New York in 2010. Currently, Ayumi is a regular member of The Jazz Thieves, GADADU, The Eighty-pound Pug, Platypus Revenge and Big Squid performing and recording for numerous projects. As a member of the Jazz Thieves, she performed at renowned music festivals around east coast such as Burlington Discover Jazz Festival (VT '18), River Jazz Festival (PA '17, '19), and Sowebo Arts and Music Festival (MD '17).

In 2017, Ayumi joined Marc Edwards & Slipstream Time Travel led by Marc Edwards, former drummer of the Cecil Taylor's band. She has also worked with several renowned musicians and artists in New York's creative music scene such as Daniel Carter, Dave Sewelson, Elliott Levin and Steve Dalachinsky.

Ayumi has been leading her own group since 2011. She released two albums, "View From A Little Cave" (2016) and "Midnite Cinema" (2019), that consist of all her original compositions. The albums are receiving a lot of attention from home and abroad and have been featured on national and international music blogs including Jazz Trail, Bandcamp Daily, Divide and Conquer, The Family Review, Left Bank Magazine, Odd Creative, and Disk Union, just to name a few. In December 2019, Ayumi was invited to WFMU-FM's radio program "Give the Drummer Radio" as a guest musician and talked about her music and performed live with the host saxophonist Dave Sewelson."

"NY-based drummer, composer, and educator Wen-Ting Wu is a diverse artist from Taiwan with a background ranging from jazz to contemporary music. She moved to New York in 2016 and earned her Master of Jazz Performance Degree in Queens College. Most recently, she has appeared at venues and concert halls including Smalls Jazz Club, Smoke Jazz Club, Minton's Playhouse, Fat Cat, National Sawdust, Rockwood Music Hall, LeFrak Concert Hall, and Kupferberg Center for the Arts.

Wen-Ting has performed at festivals both nationally and internationally including the Washington Square Music Festival, CUNY Jazz Festival, the NTCH Summer Jazz Festival (National Theater Concert Hall), Taichung Jazz Festival, Golden Melody Festival, GonGliao Rock Festival, the Wake-Up Music Festival, and the NTU Art Festival in Taiwan.

Besides being a member in Frank Lacy's Concert Jazz Ensemble currently, she has also shared the stage with artists such as Joel Frahm, Bertha Hope, Lonnie Plaxico, Todd Coolman, Antoine Drye, Anthony Wonsey and Akua Dixon. She was also a member of Golden Melody Award-winning band Chang & Lee and Hello Nico in Taiwan before she moved to New York.

In addition to the collaboration with many artists as a drummer, she also leads her own band presenting original music at prestigious venues in NY such as Kupferberg Center for the Arts and Minton's playhouse.

As an advocate for music education, Wen-Ting currently teaches drums at the Joseph Pulitzer Middle School after school program and is an assistant teacher at the National Theater and Concert Hall Jazz camp in Taiwan under the direction of Michael Philip Mossman and Antonio Hart. She also teaches private lessons through out New York City. She has received awards including Discimus ut Serviamus Award and Scholarship and Third Prize in the Taichung Jazz Contest.

She received her B.A at National ChengChi University in Business Administration and M.A. at Queens College, The Aaron Copland School of Music in Jazz performance under Dennis Mackrel."
