Analogized to a form of poetry known as the Projective Verse, Chicago trumpeter Rob Mazurek propels clarion exclamation and contemplation on the piccolo trumpet through eleven improvisations utilizing the natural resonance of each room that he performs in, captured in True Stereo through dual microphones resulting in this remarkable solo album.

Recorded at the Chinati Fondation, in Marfa, Texas, on August 13th and 14th, 2018, by Ken Christianson.
"To make poems of essential use, Charles Olson wrote in 1950, poets must attend to the breath. Poems of this kind that are written, Olson adds, by those who compose by the breath and who also listen. He calls this method Projective Verse. I suspect Olson would consider this album by Rob Mazurek recorded at the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas, in buildings where works by Donald Judd and John Chamberlain are installed, a kind of Projective Verse on the piccolo trumpet."-Tim Johnson, from the liner notes
"We hear Mazurek's movements, the sounds of his body and breath, the way Mazurek responds to those sounds. As he breathes, he listens."-Rogueart"
