Translating to "Cross Black", French guitarist Richard Comte provides a set of four diverse soundtracks, from deep turbulent darkness and sonic decay to crisply ringing guitar resonance, over which sound poet Sébastien Lespinasse intones with solemn import his dark words of imagery and observation.

Traverser noir
"we held each other's hand to move forward in the dark
contact, the skin of things, contour, without distance, to touch the
moment (or to be touched, blind)
we delicately massage the anguish
a filter that disorientates: night falls, we advance in time, a path
is made, it is a hole, we fall, we make the world fall inside, there
is emptiness, the dust of emptiness, the face of nothingness , the
mute matter of things
nothing comes, there is no form, no genre, no magic formula: just move on
grains of dust are our real landmarks
we cannot see anything and it is our way of feeling
we were able to begin because beginning is problematic
all this supposes a fragility: the main thing was to take care of the
relationship, of the distance
this well-known trick of digging, attentive to the lines, to the
nuances, to the grain of the voice, to the grain of the tight rope.
a collection of pebbles on the beach, waiting to become grains of sand
the waves, already there, before we realize it
a whole intimate geography of the thresholds of perception
to write with both ear and body immersed
not what we want to say but how it works, it binds, it clusters in chaos
everything was there (palpably)."
Artist Biographies
• Show Bio for Richard Comte "Richard Comte is focused on the sonic possibilities of the guitar, drawing timeless spaces, from loud immersive drones to spacious resonances bordering on silence itself. He played with improvisers Simon H. Fell, Mark Sanders, Shabaka Hutchings, Mars Williams, Jim Black, and he interpreted contemporary music pieces from Michael Pissaro, Eliane Radigue, Fausto Romitelli. He works also in the field of contemporary dance, theater and visual arts. In 2017 he founded Nunc., a label dedicated to liberate and open music." ^ Hide Bio for Richard Comte • Show Bio for Sebastien Lespinasse "Sébastien Lespinasse, born in 1975, in Marseille. Lives and works in Tou-louse, France. Founding member of the group (Branqu'art: performances and happenings in everyday life. My current interests in sound-poetry are focused on the notion on indetermination. The 'score-poem' is but the sign of a possible way, of a wandering among sounds and meaning in formation. Trying to uproot the letter in view of a poetry concrete and projective. An exploration seeking the boiling points of language." ^ Hide Bio for Sebastien Lespinasse
