SQUIDCO/SQUID'S EAR NEWS

October 10, 2008

Squidco

It's true, we fell behind in cataloging items for this mailing list - we blame Phil, who travelled South to attend his Mother's 70th birthday celebration (Happy Birthday Mom!) That didn't stop new items from roaring into the store, as you'll see in the "In Stock" section below. So this mailing presents 21 items fully cataloged with descriptions, track listings and samples, and 23 more in stock and ready to ship. Expect a larger mailing than usual next time around!

Highlights from this mailing include Cuneiform's latest releases, with the Birdsongs of the Mesozoic complete Ace of Hearts reissue, Isotope with Hugh Hopper, New York's Microscopic Septet, Deus Ex Machina, and Richard Pinhas/Merzbow's double CD. Ambiances Magnetiques releases the dark "10 Taxonomical Movements", while Creative Sources has a host of new releases including Mark O'Leary's "Fabrikraum", dis.playce, Scott Field's conceptual "Drawings", New Yorkers Jacob Wick and Andrew Greenwald in lowercase improv, and the powerful piano work of Jacques Demierre. Also on piano on Collection QB is Brigitte Poulin performing the work of 4 modern composers. Sun Ra is at the center of our mailing, with the 28(!) CD Detroit Residency box set, a new AUM Fidelity issue, and the "Live In Oakland" DVD (plus two other Transparency titles in stock); David Grubbs's great new album on Drag City is available on CD & LP; plus a new Acid Mothers Temple release and a Yoshi Wada reissue on EM Records. In all a small but vital set of additions to our catalog!
