Relative Pitch Records is a NYC based independent record label founded in 2011. RPR's roster mainly specializes in avant-garde jazz, free jazz, and fully free improvisation music from artists across the US. Notable artists who recorded for RPR include Greg Cohen, Joey Baron, Matthew Shipp, Vinny Golia, and many more talented musicians. The original intention of the label was to record live gigs as an extension of the label leader's role volunteering at concerts in the city. That goal was extended to release roughly 8 - 10 albums of great music each year by select artists that the label stands behind and truly believes in.
This weekend we've partnered with Relative Pitch to offer 24 albums from their catalog at the price of $10.80, a savings of more than $3 per title. The sale runs from June 8 - Sunday, June 11th. So take advantage of this great price and explore albums from one of the most interesting young labels to emerge in this decade !
Orders must be placed through our shopping cart. Relative Pitch Records Sale ends Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 11:59 PM EST. Relative Pitch Records Sale items do not qualify for Squidco Reward Points. Orders will ship approximately one weeks after the Relative Pitch Records Sale ends; we will send out email confirmation when your order ships. Orders with non-sale items will be held until Relative Pitch Records Sale items are in stock.
As we mentioned a few weeks ago, we've acquired a large number of Creative Sources titles as we catch up with the catalog. We're trying to do our best in providing detailed information about each release, and we didn't want them to take over our "Just In" category (there will be 115 of them when we're done!) So we created a new category called "Back Catalog" that we introducing the new releases into. We're just getting started with them so if you want to stay current with our additions, just click below, or choose the "Back Catalog" link from our homepage.
The Portugal based Creative Sources label has been a consistently experimental imprint, presenting outside improvisation, taking chances on music that label founder and violist Ernesto Rodrigues has confidence in. His ear is extraordinarily accurate in adding bands and artists to the label, and the imprint now boasts nearly 400 releases, with new additions coming regularly.
It's true! We're now shipping all orders of 3 or more in-stock items for free, for the forseeable future. • In the US, any order with 3 or more items choosing "Free Economy Shipping" option will ship for free! • International customers, any order with 3 or more items choosing "Free Economy Shipping" option will ship for free!
In stock items only, order with out of stock items will be held until all items are in stock. Free shipping applies only to "Free Economy Shipping" option on the Shipping & Payment Screen at checkout time. 1st Class and other shipping rates are unaffected by this offer.
We're never quite caught up with new releases that constantly come in our door, and we don't like to rush a release to our homepage. That said, the following releases have already been stocked at Squidco, and are able to be ordered. In most cases we have images, often have samples, and some basic description of each release.
• You can see the newest additions to our catalog in our Just In Stock Section. • You can see the latest fully cataloged items in our store by using our New Releases section. • You can see Recently Restocked items on this page. • Ask to have us email you when Upcoming Releases are in stock.
Squidco has been in business as a mail-order store since 2002. In 2010 we opened a storefront in downtown Wilmington, NC, giving customers access to our catalog of more than 7,000 new items, plus hundreds of discounted, used, and promotional items not listed on our website. We're open weekdays by appointment, so if you're in the North Carolina coastal region make sure to email us to let you know that you'd like to stop by and say hello, we'd love to play some music for you!
