Fragile and understated with long spacious sections, the trio of Ernesto Rodrigues on viola, harpsichord, e-bow guitar and field recordings, Guilherme Rordrigues on cello, and Denis Sorokin on ukelele and pitch pipes, distill the sense of isolation amid patient motion through the red city, sections defined by cars passing and augmented with birds; peaceful and beautiful.

Recorded between January and June, 2019, by Denis Sorokin.
Fragile and understated with long spacious sections, the trio of Ernesto Rodrigues on viola, harpsichord, e-bow guitar and field recordings, Guilherme Rordrigues on cello, and Denis Sorokin on ukelele and pitch pipes, distill the sense of isolation amid patient motion through the red city, sections defined by cars passing and augmented with birds. The recordings were made between January and June of 2019, and Sorokin is assisted by experimental sound artist and saxophonist Illia Belorukov. It is unclear which sections are improvised or if some portions are prepared in the studio.
The listener starts the experience with simple bird calls, and no instruments are heard before late in the 6th minute, when a viola and pitch pipe slowly intone. The music continues in cycles, at times near or in complete silence, punctuated by the sounds of passing automobiles, and inevitably leading to beautiful acoustic sections of restrained play. The structure of the composition leaves the listener attentive to minor change, waiting for the instrumental sections that are clear and consistent, peaceful yet employing unusual harmonics.
The album succeeds in evoking the sense of loneliness the title intends, in a journey of solitude punctuate by impressions of a quietly expansive environment. And somehow, the trio make that isolation alluring and rewarding.

His main interest shifted towards contemporary improvised and composed music. The relationship with his instruments is focused in sonic and textural elements. Electronic music was an early influence on his approach to violin playing, which challenges traditional romantic concepts of the violin/viola through use of preparations and micro tuning. Active in different settings on the Portuguese scene for free improvised music, both as a collaborator and in leading his own groups. Music for Dance, Cinema, Video and Performance. Has created the record label Creative Sources Recordings in 1999, which mainly concentrates on releasing experimental and electro-acoustic music." ^ Hide Bio for Ernesto Rodrigues
