"I am Heidi Kvelvane and I originally come from Sandnes. When I was 8 I started playing the clarinet in the Lura school choir, but when I was 13 I changed my main instrument to the saxophone. I was then the only saxophonist in the school band, and the spring after I changed instruments, there was the Rogaland Championship for bands. There, the lura school band was to play in the 1st division, and I was to play solo with the band. This kicked off the joy of practicing that I have had ever since. I knew early on in secondary school that I wanted to go to the music major at the daring upper secondary school. I started here in 2016, and was able to develop myself musically, and quickly found a love for arranging and composing, which I have made great use of in recent times. I also participated for several years in soloist classes in the Rogaland Championship, where I got a podium place 4 years in a row. In addition to playing classical solo pieces, I was also active in SAUS (Sandnes and Stavanger's youth big band) and as a substitute in, among other things, Orstad big band and Bjergsted jazz ensemble. When I was 17, I had lessons with Tor Yttredal, saxophone professor at UIS. He taught me an incredible amount during the year I went with him. After upper secondary school, I applied for the jazz major in Bergen, and am now studying performing jazz saxophone at the Grieg Academy. Here I have met many fine musicians with whom I have several own bands and ensembles, where I also write my own music. Despite the corona year 2020, I have had an incredible number of opportunities to play with people, which I previously only dared to dream about. Among other things, I have had the opportunity to play with prominent jazz musicians such as Paal Nilsenlove, Kristoffer Alberts, Jørgen Træen, Terje Isungset, Henrik Økland, and Nils Henrik Asheim."

"Kjetil Traavik Møster (born 17 June 1976) is a Norwegian jazz musician (tenor and soprano saxophones, clarinet and bass clarinet) and composer, known from bands like The Core, Ultralyd, Brat, Zanussi 5, and performance with Chick Corea at Moldejazz 2000, later released on CD. He has also made his mark with experimental performances at the interface between electronic based fri-rock and jazz."

"Kristoffer Alberts (b. 1982) has emerged in the Norwegian scene of improvised music with a fresh approach to the saxophone. One hears traces of Albert Ayler, Ab Baars and the likes of Frank Lowe but Alberts has let his influences shape the music so you feel them rather than hearing them loud and clear. His contribution to the scene is also seen with his own label. Alberts is active in groups like Cortex, collaborations with Lasse Marhaug, Maja Ratkje and Steve Noble, whom all are featured on recordings released by his own label as well as Clean Feed."

"Jørgen Træen also known by his stage name Sir Dupermann (born 15 April 1973) is a Norwegian record producer, musician (guitar, keyboards and bass guitar) and electronica artist from Bergen. He is best known for his work as a music producer and for the studio 'Duper Studio', which he runs together with Yngve Sætre.

Several Norwegian artists have recorded their albums at the 'Duper Studio'. Among the artists he has cooperated with as a producer is Kaizers Orchestra, The National Bank (on both albums), Sondre Lerche (on the first three albums), Jaga Jazzist ( A Livingroom Hush), Poor Rich Ones (Naivety's Star) and Helén Eriksen (City Dust).

As a musician he is in and has been in bands and projects like noise band 'Golden Serenades', the pop band 'House of Hiss', Toy, 'Slut Machine' and 'Der Brief'. In 2002 he released electronica album Sir Dupermann under the artist name 'Sir Dupermann'."

"Thomas Tellevik Dahl (born 7 September 1973) is a Norwegian jazz musician (guitar), music educator and composer, known from a series recordings, among others within bands like Krøyt and Dingobats.

Dahl is educated at the "Skeisvang videregående skole"(Skeisvang high school) in Haugesund (1989-92), "Sund folkehøgskole" in Inderøy (1992-93) and on the Jazz program at Trondheim Musikkonservatorium (1993-98). Dahl has released several albums and received Spellemannprisen 1999 with Krøyt (1993-2005), joined the band Dingobats (1995-2005), releasing three albums and within John Pål Inderberg's twelve-tone Quartet (1995-96), and Erlend Skomsvoll's "Skomsork" (1996-02).

He has written commissioned works for Nattjazz 2004 (Norsk Hydro), for "Finsejazz" 2005, and with Per Jørgensen and Frank Jakobsen, composed "Tomlane opp" (2006). Dahl has worked as a music educator on the Jazz program at Trondheim Musikkonservatorium (NTNU), Agder Musikkonservatorium, HiA (2002-05) and Griegakademiet, University of Bergen (2005-), where he is associate professor.

Borge Fjordheim: Songwriter/Producer

The drummer, composer, arranger and producer Børge Fjordheim co-owns recording studio Elektrolüd and vinyl pressing plant T-Time Vinyl Plant in Stavanger, Norway. Fjordheim is also a part of the impro-rockband Cloroform. Since 1997 he has co-produced pop-singer Morten Abel's records, while also being the regular drummer on his tours. Other artists he tours regularly with include Sivert Höyem and Janove. As a songwriter and producer, Børge has worked with Eva & The Heartmaker, Janove, Marion Ravn, Thea & The Wild, Lene Marlin, Monica Heldal, Halvdan Sivertsen, Hilde Selvikvåg, Kylie Minogue and more. Fjordheim has also written music for radio, TV and film.

"Øyvind Skarbø, b. 1982, is a drummer, composer and producer based in Bergen, Norway. He studied with Terje Isungset from 2004-2006, and has also studied Norwegian, Cuban and Yoruba traditional music. Øyvind has performed on 28 albums, and played in 28 countries. He received the Vossajazz Prize in 2016."

"Born in 1977, Per Zanussi grew up in Stavanger with an Italian father and Norwegian mother. He started playing various instruments at five but picked up the bass at 13 playing in rock bands. After discovering jazz he quickly switched to double bass.

Zanussi has a Masters degree in music from the Conservatory in Trondheim and the Norwegian Academy of Music, Oslo, concentrating on double bass and composition. His compositional work has so far resulted in music for prize winning theatre and dance performances and short films as well as comissions for Bit 20, Trondheim Jazz Orchestra and and Stavanger's Kitchen Orchestra.

He is currently a research fellow at the University of Stavanger through the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme.

In 1996, while still a student in Trondheim he founded the electronic project Wibutee together with Håkon Kornstad and Wetle Holte.This outfit recorded 3 albums with Zanussi and toured most of the world in the following years.In 2001 he founded his longest lasting project to date, Zanussi 5, playing Zanussi's compositions in an acoustic format. This group has recorded 4 quintet albums and a fifth as a version of Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, a twelve piece group including Zanussi 5. In 2012 the album "Live" by Zanussi 13 was released : A 13 piece version of Zanussi 5 consisting of the core group, plus all the musicians that have played with the band over the years, among them Jonas Kullhammar and Stian Westerhus.Zanussi also leads his new eleven piece group, Per Zanussi Ensemble. This is a vehicle for Zanussi's compositions for free improvisors, and includes musicians such as Sofia Jernberg, Eivind Lønning and David Stackenäs.
