She moved to Berlin in 2008, interested in the local improvised music scene. Tending to a rather physical and expending way of playing, her performances are characterized by a decidedly harsh and noisy but at the same time elegiac, breezy and spacious sound." ^ Hide Bio for Anais Tuerlinckx • Show Bio for Joachim Zoepf "Born in 1955, he began learning the piano at the age of nine and the saxophone in 1976. He first began his music studies in Vienna in 1979 and later continued them in Cologne. In addition to the soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophone, his instruments include the bass clarinet and the piano. He has been a freelance musician and music teacher since 1983. He has played in a wide variety of formations, whether in the field of "enlightened jazz" (e.g. Kölner Saxophon Mafia, Lunx) or "new music" (e.g. Paolo Chagas, Georg Haidu). His current work focuses on "new improvised music" and "electro-acoustic music", which he plays in preferably continuously working groups or solo. Zoepf's particular interest is in cross-genre collaborations with the performing or visual arts (including Fine Kwiatkowski, Markus Heesch, "Interplay"). He is also responsible for numerous productions and publications. He worked as a sound engineer for Johannes S. Sistermanns, Rilo Chmielorz, Günter Christmann and sound recordings in Gebäude 9 (Cologne Deutz). In addition to his artistic activities, Joachim Zoepf was involved in cultural politics. He worked in the "Initiative Kölner Jazzhaus" and in the "Initiativkreis Freie Musik" in Cologne and was co-founder of the "Arbeitsgemeinschaft Improvisierte Musik", organised the "Improvisatorium" and the series "Leitkultur" (over 50 concerts with changing local, regional and inter/national guests). In 1999 he launched the label "Improvisers Series" as a sub-label of the NUR/NICHT/ NUR art and music production. In 2000 he was co-initiator and co-organiser of the symposium "Improvised Music" in Cologne." ^ Hide Bio for Joachim Zoepf
