"In the early winter a few years ago, Cody and Nathan spent a couple of days in West Texas. As usually happens, we all set up in the studio and improvised together. There's ambient drift and float here, "Doubleness" has echos of "Thursday Afternoon" to my ear. But there's also gnarled textures under there, brittle strings, Nathan's synth speaking to us the basics of synthesis.
This is casual music, life music; sound made with intention within the gaps of living.
Anemoia is the first release on my new label project, Editions Glomar, a vanity label of sorts, a way to release music without friction, an excuse to do things with my friends, as most of all of this is."-Glomar Editions
Artist Biographies
• Show Bio for Gretchen Korsmo Gretchen Korsmo is a producer, sound artist, improviser, and art director for Full Spectrum. She is a member of the group Wind Tide with Andrew Weathers. ^ Hide Bio for Gretchen Korsmo • Show Bio for Nathan McLaughlin "Nathan McLaughlin lives and works in Hudson, NY, via years spent living in Maryland, Minnesota & Pennsylvania. For some time the focus has been on creating music with the reel to reel tape machine....the primary goal being to create beautiful sound heavily revolving around and directly influenced by the intensity of domestic situations. This goal exists as a way of explaining a complex and fragile life while protecting privacy, anonymity and individual free will." ^ Hide Bio for Nathan McLaughlin • Show Bio for Andrew Weathers "Andrew Weathers (b.1988) is a composer and improviser originally from Chapel Hill, NC and currently based in Littlefield, TX. His work engages with notions of place, tradition, repetition, and spirit, splitting the difference between folk music and Land Art. Weathers studied composition at UNC-Greensboro and electronic music at Mills College in Oakland, CA. A consistent presence in the underground music scene over the past decade, Weathers' work covers a wide spectrum from solo acoustic guitar to electronic noise. He also performs and records regularly with Tender Crust, Wind Tide, Satin Spar, Tamarisk, Llano Estacado Monad Band, Tethers and Real Life Rock & Roll Band. Weathers also produces recordings for the Full Spectrum, Other Minds, and Rural Situationism record labels, curates the Longitudes music series at CO-OPt Research + Projects in Lubbock, TX and works as a freelance mixing and mastering engineer." ^ Hide Bio for Andrew Weathers • Show Bio for Cody Yantis Cody Yantis: "sound maker. picture taker. software engineer. Instrumental, improvisational, and often string-based, the works of Cody Yantis tend to reside in the margins between tonality and noise. Experiences and ideas of environment provide consistent motivations as Yantis explores what David Teague has called "people suiting posture to place." A member of Saguache and Tilth, he also writes and works in visual media." ^ Hide Bio for Cody Yantis
