Descriptions, Reviews, &c.

"Azalia Snail started her musical career in the late 1980s working on a soundtrack for her own experimental films & quickly settled into the four-track cassette recording culture making personal & introspective pop songs influenced by musical heroes like Syd Barrett & Brian Eno. Over the years she's recorded a dozen albums; toured extensively across the world; & collaborated with the likes of Alan Sparhawk (Low), Beck, Grasshopper (Mercury Rev), Pall Jenkins (Black Heart Procession), & Daniel Oxenberg (Supreme Dicks) to name a few. Over twenty years into her career she still continues to make her own refreshing style of music that you can't find anywhere else. Azalia Snail has been on the Silber periphery for years with her special version of lo-fi space pop & we're proud to bring her into the family & into your ears.

On Celestial Respect Azalia takes us on a musical journey that pays tribute to the power of the sun & the hope it can bring to us all in the strife of the convenient yet often disheartening modern world. "Space Heater" speaks of the simple yet sometimes neglected need for hu- man warmth & companionship. "User System" touches on the deceitful aspects of a com- panionship gone awry; "Death Gets in the Way" half jokingly riddles with the quest for eter- nal togetherness interrupted by death itself & our fragile mortality. What makes Azalia shine is her ability to take serious subjects & combine them with a sense of wimsy & playfulness, yet she recognizes that life in fact isn't a dichotomy. It's not simply positive & negative. It is what you make it; so let's try to make it a better place. A fantastic place that can provoke & intrigue; a place for us ALL to shine & thrive, whilst paying respect to the celestial eternity."-Silber Media
