Manfred Werder focuses on possibilities of rendering the practices regarding composition and field. His recent scores have featured either found sentences from poetry and philosophy, or found words from whatever sources. His performances, both indoors and outdoors, aim at letting appear the world's natural abundance. Earlier works include stück 1998, a 4000 page score whose nonrecurring and intermittent performative realization has been ongoing since December 1997." ^ Hide Bio for Manfred Werder • Show Bio for Erik Carlson "Erik Carlson has performed as a soloist and with many chamber and orchestral ensembles throughout Europe and the Americas. He is a highly active performer of contemporary music and has had works written for him by numerous composers, including Karlheinz Stockhausen, Tom Johnson, Jürg Frey, and Georges Aperghis. Mr. Carlson is an enthusiastic proponent of interdisciplinary collaboration, and performs frequently with poets, dancers, actors, and film. He is a member of the International Contemporary Ensemble and the Talea Ensemble and is the founder of the New York Miniaturist Ensemble. He has been featured on over a dozen recordings, including his own two recent albums of music for violin. Also a composer, he has had his musical compositions performed in a wide variety of venues. He studied violin with Jorja Fleezanis, Ronald Copes, and Robert Mann, and holds a Master's degree from The Juilliard School. Celebrated as an adventurous performer, Stephanies theatrical tendencies often include multi-disciplinary collaborations of sight, sound and movement. An avid collaborator and supporter of new music, Stephanie has premiered new works throughout North America and Europe, while having her own compositions premiered at venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Blue-note and Lincoln Center. Stephanie is a founding member of the Asphalt Orchestra, created the collective Bang On a Can, where she has worked with David Byrne, St. Vincent, Susan Marshall and has also performed alongside Kronos Quartet, The Pixies, Kanye West, A-Trak and Common. Stephanie holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music, McGill University and the California Institute of the Arts and has held residency at Stanford University. A recent addition to the faculty at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), Stephanie also encourages the performance and commissioning of jazz and new music as Vice-President of the Festival of New Trumpet (FONT). Edward Davis is a composer of electronic and acoustic music. His work often engages with the sounds of the environment, exploring processes, patterns, and systems inspired by nature. Recent performers of his work include the New Mexico Contemporary Ensemble, the Witches Duo, Musica Nova, Callithumpian Consort, the Williams College Percussion Ensemble, Soundry Ensemble, Red Hedgehog Trio, yMusic, the Duke New Music Ensemble, Da Capo Chamber Players, the Wet Ink Ensemble, violinist Mari Kimura, pianist Ingrid Lee, and flutist Dalia Chin and vocalist Kate McDuffie. His compositions are featured on the Spectropol Records compilation Possible Worlds, Vol. 2, and on recordings by Red Hedgehog Trio (10 x 10), David Thornton (Parallel Realities), Eric Honour (Phantasm: Music for Saxophone and Computer), and Erik Carlson (Music for Violin).
