Recorded at the Dom Cultural Center in Moscow, Russia, in September, 2015, by Maxim Khaikin.
"A full length release from three masters of quiet sound. Martin Taxt is a Norwegian musican who plays tuba and runs the Sofa label, Andrey Popovskiy hails from Saint Petersburg and plays violin with objects, Kurt Liedwart plays ppooll using mostly sinewaves and quiet noises and one can notice his current transition to a more noise oriented sound. Hjem is a joint adventure of constructing the soundscapes of mysterious clouds of harmonic and microtonal sounds. Acoustic instrumentation lost its human quality making machine-like sounds and computer imitated organ-like sounds and emitted cracked sounds of everyday life. The alchemic processes and procedures of working with the constituent parts reinforced by a beautifully conjured Toshimaru Nakamura's mix highlight the unique approach of each player to sound and their ability to build an organically sounding organism with unexpected turns."-Mikroton

After numerous projects of the last ten years where he experimented with sounds of electric and acoustic guitars, composed for chamber ensembles and collaborated with all famous improvisers in St. Petersburg, Andrey concentrated on a quiet and miniature sound working with mini-amplifiers, e-bows, different surfaces and objects. The sound which demands active listening, everyday objects of our life (for example, baking forms for cookies or electric toothbrushes), silence and interaction with silence are the main trends of current improvised music scene which Popovskiy studies with great focus on detail and to the fullest extent. Besides musical activities Andrey is an art director of Experimental Sound Gallery and writes about music." ^ Hide Bio for Andrey Popovskiy • Show Bio for Martin Taxt "Martin Taxt, born in Trondheim, Norway in 1981, finished his studies at the Academy of Music in Oslo and CNSMDP in Paris in 2006.
