"Emmanuelle Waeckerlé is a London based artist and academic whose interdisciplinary practice explores the materiality of language and connecting issues of place and identity. Through a number of interrelated projects stretching back over twenty years, Emmanuelle uses performative strategies (live and mediated), text (very few words) and on the page work to construct ephemeral occasions, scores and other creative tools suitable for the marking and reading of (being in) space. Recurring themes are - the relationship between walking writing and reading - the limitations and creative potential of translation - poetics of survival and resistance

Emmanuelle is a Reader in Photography and relational practices at University for the Creative Art in Farnham, and director of bookRoom research cluster and bookRoom press. Between 2007 and 2014 she was part of the small team running the centre des livres d'artistes in St Yrieix la Perche in France.

Emmanuelle studied Photography with Mick Williamson at Sir John Cass (now Metropolitan University). She then completed an MA in Fine Art at the Slade school of Art in 1996 under Stuart Brisley. After a few years of part time lecturing on the Photography degree and the MA in Fine Art at Kent Institute of Art and design she was appointed senior lecturer in Visual communication at University for the Creative Arts in Farnham in the Photography department. She became a Reader in 2012."

"Antoine Beuger (b. 1955 in Oosterhout, Netherlands) studied composition with Ton de Leeuw at Sweelinck Coservatorium in Amsterdam 1973-78. In 1990 he began composing after an interruption of about 10 years. Two years later he founded Edition Wandelweiser together with composer/performer Burkhard Schlothauer. Since 1994 he's been active with the conception and organisation of KLANGRAUM, a concert series at Kunstraum Düsseldorf. During the years 1995-2001 he was working together with visual artist Mauser as artistic director of "Werkraum", Place for Interdisciplinary Artistic Events, Cologne. Since 1996 he's been artistic director of edition wandelweiser records and since 2004 managing director of Edition Wandelweiser gmbh."

" "... classical music without pretence... " is Alissa Cheung's approach to her multi-faceted career. A native of Edmonton (Alberta) violinist and composer, Ms Alissa Cheung (BSc '07, BMus '09, MM '13), is a tenured member of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra (ESO) since 2010 and will move to Montréal in January 2015 to join the Bozzini Quartet.

She has been involved with the Alberta Baroque Ensemble, and has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Canada, USA, Europe and Japan. Career highlights include performances at Carnegie Hall and Suntory Hall, and solos with the ESO and the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Orchestra. Ms Cheung has been featured in Vue Weekly Magazine and Edmonton Sun, and was aired on CBC, CKUA, and WKPN Radio.

An adamant interpreter of new music, Alissa has performed numerous contemporary works and was an Artist in Residence at the Bang on a Can Summer Festival (2011), at the and at the Lucerne Festival Academy (2013).

As a composer, her works have been performed at the Tonus Vivus Festival of New Music (Edmonton), Jordan Hall (Boston), Morse Recital Hall (New Haven, CT), and the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. Upcoming projects include a commission by the Arx Duo and the Bass Line Road Ensemble. Ms Cheung studied composition with Hannah Lash (Yale) and Piotr Grella-Mozejko (Edmonton).

In addition to private teaching, Ms Cheung has been Sessional Instructor at King's University College and faculty member of the Alberta College Conservatory of Music. Educational outreach initiatives include being a Teaching Artist with ESO's Adopt-a-Player Program and with the National Arts Centre's Music Alive Program.

Ms Cheung's principal violin teachers were Marian Moody, Ranald Shean, Broderyck Olson (Edmonton), Thomas Williams (McGill), and Ani Kavafian (Yale). Other influential coaches include Malcolm Lowe, Mark Fewer, Rafael Rosenfeld, Kyoko Hashimoto, and members of the former Tokyo, Juilliard and Concord string quartets."

"Josten Myburgh: Perth-based musician, influenced (mostly) by early music, fluxus, footwork, hip-hop, Wandelweiser, free improvisation and folk music, and interested (broadly) in gentleness, silence, repetition, counterpoint, juxtaposition and nonsense.

I work for Tura New Music as a curator of their 'grassroots' concert and workshop programs, centred around experimental chamber music and free improvisation.

I am part of running the label Tone List, which represents some exploratory music activities in Perth through releasing records and organising concerts.

I've studied with Antoine Beuger, Lindsay Vickery (WAAPA), Stuart James (WAAPA), and also undertaken mentorships and emerging artist programs with Alessandro Bosetti, Perluigi Billone, James Ledger and Richard Barrett.

I'm currently a PhD candidate at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, and also teach there as a sessional lecturer. My research surrounds the intersections of radical philosophies of hope and experimental music communities.

I play composed music with Jameson Feakes and with the ensemble Breaking Waves. I also play free improvisation, usually with Michael McNab (Tchake), Emilio Gordoa, Sage Pbbbt, and eszetts. My solo performances often incorporate a mixture of composed laptop electronics, improvisation, voice, objects and 'non-musical' elements."

She has worked regularly with composers such as Antoine Beuger, Jürg Frey, Eva-Maria Houben, Radu Malfatti, Michael Pisaro, Craig Shepard, Christian Wolff and Istvàn Zelenka, who have created works for vocals (alone or in combination with instruments) Have written.

She has worked as a spokeswoman in art video productions like ParadiseNow! By Andrea Knobloch (2006) and Demand, Buoyancy and Waste. Or: the reverse of the garbage. By Joachim Eckl and Kurt Hennrich (2007).

In 2011, Edition Wandelweiser Records released their complete recording of John Cage's Empty Words, one 10-hour piece for voice, on CD."

"Samuel Vriezen was born in Groningen in 1973, and is a Dutch composer of mostly chamber and piano works that have been performed in Europe and elsewhere; he is also active as a pianist.

Mr. Vriezen began private piano lessons at age eight in Haarlem. He initially studied mathematics, but then studied composition with Louis Andriessen, Clarence Albertson Barlow, Martijn Padding, and Diderik Wagenaar at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag from 1994-2000. He also attended courses in computational linguistics and formal models of musical perception with Remko Scha at the University of Amsterdam.

As a pianist, he specializes in contemporary music and was the first pianist other than the composer to play The Chord Catalogue by Tom Johnson in 2003. He and Dante Oei were invited to perform and teach at the Wiener Tage für Zeitgenössische Klaviermusik in 2005.

He is also active in other positions. With Emily Doolittle, Cynthie van Eijden, Dante Oei, Cléo Palacio-Quentin, and Martijn Voorvelt, he co-organized the new music series Concerten Tot en Met in Amsterdam from 1997-2004. In addition, he is a poet and has translated American poetry (John Ashbery, Kenneth Koch, Laura Riding, and James Tate) into Dutch. He has organized experimental literary events for the organization Perdu in Amsterdam since 2004. Moreover, he developed the strategic card game Expansion."
