"Crux Trio takes is name from the idea that we keep trying to achieve something that can't be mastered for rewarded. Crux the latin word for cross and the crux or important part of an issue:"
"The CRUX of the matter refers to the most important part of an ISSUE. It is also the latin word for a CROSS. So in itself we can find a metaphor for an intersection of musical paths, only trading in the most essential dialogue possible. We attempt to live this practice in our day to day habits. With our thoughts and actions. Sometimes we attempt it with instruments in a fram out buildings in Ditton Priors. Surrounded by livestock and with people we call friends. Why we do it or for whom or for what this is for is umnimportant. The CRUX of the matter is that WE CARE about doing it and we keep trying to achieve something that can not be measured or rewarded."-Crux Trio

Barry was in the year above me (ed) but we soon realised we had very similar ideas of what we like about music in general. I (ed) left the scene for a few years but stayed in touch with Barry. I met Mark through my teacher (Tony Bianco) and called him up for a play. Again we found a mutual ground regarding what we dug about music, and when the 3 of us got together it just worked. This music is the result of us just getting together and playing, nothing was said before we played and little after. Enjoy."-Ed Gauden ^ Hide Bio for Ed Gauden • Show Bio for Steve Tromans "Steve Tromans is a pianist and composer working in the interrelated fields of jazz and improvised music.
