"Robin Servant [Rimouski, Canada] is a musician with a passion for traditional musics, improvisation, and composition. He has worked in many traditional ensembles (Trio Salicorne, Tord-Vis, la Baratte à Beurre, la Marée montante) and also in improvised music groups (GGRIL, duo Escarbilles, Brugir). He tries to make connections between popular traditions and contemporary musics. His work is organized around 2 axes: sharing the experience and experiencing the moment. With Du souffle et de l'espace, he explores the acoustics of the places he visits by making them vibrate with his accordion and electronics."

His drum becomes a pretext to rubbed objects that tells a story. Sculpture of sound, atypical percussionist, he uses various objects and questions the moment by breaking the codes of our perceptions. Nutured by contemporary music, he develops a solo that goes from the lightest whisper to a telluric storm.With his raw animistic approach we forget the technique, we listen to the texture and the material. He takes sounds from everywhere to build moods beetween noise and silences or contemporary vibrations and he cooks us a big meal among the disturbing and oniric textures. Every recording is unique and one shot live taken. Work on the silence.... duration of course, but not on the slowness. A colony of small insects start polyrythmic dances while the master of ceremonies shout weird tunes. The Sacred overtakes clearly the basic solo of percussions towards a dark shamanic trance....unique experience !!!
