"OXID is the work of Spanish electronic musician Estanis Comella and is one of those releases that finds its way here unbidden in the hope that I might find something to like thus giving Estanis and Nueni Rec some much needed promotion [they don't need it, I've just checked]. You win some, you lose some. Fifty five minutes of electronic beats that I found hard going and offering praise I find harder still. But I didn't give up, I found the Estanis Comella Soundcloud page and had a listen there but still the same computerized [I'm guessing] software generated deconstructed beats. I imagine Sonar in Barcelona to be full of such work, mildly interesting for those who are in to such things but ultimately unrewarding for those who aren't."-Mark Wharton, Idwal Fisher

A composition for at least three musicians and processed field recordings from Adam Zuckerman, here configured as a quintet eliciting a poem by Paul Celan, organizing the lines of the poem into multiple movements, exquisitely performed by Kanoa Ichiyanagi (viola), Zaq Kenefick (harmonica), Juan Marroquin (flute), Dylan Marx (guitar) and Kristyna Svihalova (percussion).

Sound artist Radboud Mens and composer Michel Banabila collaborated with video artist Marco Douma in a series of live perofrmances in 2015, the audio of which is heard here in electronic beats of a triphop nature, detailed and compelling rhythms from their performances at Le Guess Who festival in Utrecht, Netherlands and at Steim Summer Party, at Bimhuis.

	Tim Barnes DEAD-LOOP [VINYL] (Amish Records)
Percussionist, Quakebasket label leader, and experimental sound artist Tim Barnes both subverts and respect the forms of electronica by turning it on its side, extracting unusual rhythms and structures from rhythmic elements and samples, at times following conventional direction and then breaking off into Barne's instinctive drive for abstraction and diversion.

A 33 rpm 7" from Washington, DC sound artist Chester Hawkins, which "contains highly concentrated extracts" of two remixes of live recordings at Logan Fringe Arts Space and Red Onion Records, from his limited-edition USB release "Cops Need Serial Numbers"; mesmerizing and hypnotic electronics from a masterful performer and kosmiche explorer.

	Cheval Gris Candor Cloak (Bad Architect Records)
Combining the work of 18 artists chosen to interpret a series of sacred rites that took place deep within the woods by an elite shaman of an Amazon tribe, including Squidco's own Carl Kruger & phil zampino, Cheval Gris (Ryan Lewis) weaves an incredible story in sound, a virtual soundtrack of rich aural environments, concrete elements, and ritualistic sound.

	Machinefabriek Dwaal/Wold+ (Moving Furniture)
Two contrasting works composed for the tape label Dauw by Rutger Zuydervelt, exercises in creating an auditory space or sphere rather than sculpting a structured composition; "Dwaal" presents orchestral washes amidst a barrage of radio static and erratic noise; "Wold" is a dream-like work of pianos, subtle hiss and field recordings; plus remixes of each.
