"In 2017, Studio Dan premiered HOHNOR - a chamber music piece for two harmonicas and ensemble by Christian F. Schiller - at the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York. The piece was recorded and released as the second album (HOHNOR, ROS2) of the newly founded label records and other stuff. The CD's cover artwork is from an ongoing found object project called 0NULL1EINS by the composer."-ROS
"The concert also features the world premiere performance of HOHNOR a commissioned work by Christian F. Schiller (*1977). The title of the work is a blend of the German word HOHN (eng. SCORN) with HONOR. Schiller studied composition with Gerd Kühr and Georg Friedrich Haas in Graz, and his music has been performed by prestigious ensembles including Klangforum Wien and Ensemble Recherche. The material of this new piece derives from experiments with a harmonica that Schiller inherited from his grandfather. Using an exact duplicate of the instrument, the composition is scored for two harmonicas and ensemble. "We are thrilled to be premiering a new work by Christian Schiller, and sharing his music with the NYC audience," says Studio Dan founder, Daniel Riegler. "We consider him to be one of the most exciting young composers in Austria."
