"The Horse Improvised Music Club was established in March 2012, when it held a series of gigs at The Horse pub in Waterloo, London SE1. The club is organised by Adam Bohman, Sue lynch and Hutch Demouilpied, who are all musicians on the London Improvised Music Scene.
The Horse Improvised Music Club, ran twice monthly concerts at The Horse Pub and other venues local to Waterloo. In December 2014, the club relocated to IKlectik Art lab local to Waterloo. Since then we have had worked in partnership with IKlectik Art lab.
Since 2012 we have programmed over 200 performers both from the UK and abroad .The Club places a strong emphasis on programming established performers alongside new musicians. A broad style of improvising, including conventional instruments, sound art, performance, electronics and poetry are promoted and so within an evening we present a wide spectrum of musical improvising styles."-Horse Improv Club

• Show Bio for Steve Noble "Steve Noble is London's leading drummer, a fearless and constantly inventive improviser whose super-precise, ultra-propulsive and hyper-detailed playing has galvanized encounters with Derek Bailey, Matthew Shipp, Ishmael Wadada Leo Smith, Stephen O'Malley, Joe McPhee, Alex Ward, Rhodri Davies and many, many more. In the early eighties, Noble played with the Nigerian master drummer Elkan Ogunde, Rip Rig and Panic, Brion Gysin and the Bow Gamelan Ensemble, before going on to work with the pianist Alex Maguire and with Derek Bailey (including Company Weeks 1987, 89 and 90). He was featured in the Bailey's excellent TV series on Improvisation for Channel 4 based on his book 'Improvisation; its nature and practise'. Largely self-taught, after moving to London in 2005 Daniel embarked upon a life changing period. He studied with the guitarist John Russell for two years, spent many evenings listening to the trio of John Edwards, Tony Marsh and Evan Parker at The Vortex in East London and absorbed the free improvisation scene in and around LONDON. collectively this confirmed his musical direction. AS WELL AS Performing at many venues and festivals across the UK and Europe Daniel has ALSO been organising concerts since 2007. WITH BENEDICT TAYLOR HE organised 'the SHOREDITCH CHURCH SERIES' in LONDON DURING THE YEARS 2010 to 2013. FROM 2013 to 2016 DANIEL ORGANISED THE monthly 'Foley Street improvised music concert series' in London's west end. Daniel is the founder and artistic director of 'empty birdcage records', a label dedicated to releasing documents of free improvisation. You WILL HEAR AND SEE DANIEL performING solo, with other musicians in many ad-hoc improvising situations and in long-term collaborations or "working groups'.
